In Dita Lūse's work there dominate her own and inherited memories, an insight in her roots through old photographs, viewed through distanced generalisation. Dita Lūse is interested in the different understanding people have of the importance of mutual relationships and the significance of memories in every person's system of values. She is preoccupied with the notion that perception is influenced to a large extent not only by one's own experience, but also by inherited experience, the points of reference set by previous generations and the established code of relationships. The visible reality in the works by the painter frequently blends with visual memories and flashbacks from the past.
